Forge Wood
Forge Wood is in the north east of Crawley and is the newest of the 14 neighbourhoods.
When complete, Forge Wood will have up to 1900 homes built around a central community space. This will include a primary school, community centre, office and industrial space, retail space and parkland.
Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey are building the development over four phases.

Forge Wood Community Forum is a community group made up of local residents. They aim to collectively address issues of communal and common interests relating to the Forge Wood neighbourhood.

Childrens play area
There is a play area for toddlers and older children which is located in the main parkland area adjacent to the school. The play area consists of a range of equipment that will appeal to different age groups.

Responsibilities and contacts
Crawley Borough Council
The council is responsible for collecting Council Tax on behalf of West Sussex County Council, Sussex Police and CBC.
Your Council Tax is a separate charge to your management fee, which Preim Ltd, as the managing agent, collect and use for a variety of maintenance tasks.

Preim Ltd
As the managing agent for Forge Wood, Preim Ltd is responsible for:
- Road maintenance
- Grass cutting
- Dog and Litter bins
- Street lighting
- Fly tipping removal
- Graffiti removal
- Pathways
- Maintenance of play areas when these have been completed and handed over from the developers
The roads have not been adopted by West Sussex County Council (WSCC), however once the development is complete, the main road will become the responsibility of WSCC. All side and access roads and parking forecourts/drives will remain the responsibility of the management company.

Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon
As Forge Wood developers, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmons are responsible for:
- Development of the housing in Forge Wood
- Development of play areas
- Development of local amenities such as shops, community halls and health provision
