Council services at Christmas
The council closes at 1pm on Wednesday 24 December and reopens on Friday 2 January.
Essential services will continue to be delivered during this time - see below for details.
You can keep track of your waste and recycling collections, access Council Tax and Benefits information and complete online forms on myCrawley - it's open all day every day.
During the break you can still request services online but you may not hear back from us straight away.
Emergencies
These numbers will be available for emergencies throughout the Christmas break:
- 01293 438000 - for homelessness, Lifeline faults, urgent Environmental Health issues
- 01293 438111 - for urgent housing repairs (Crawley Homes tenants, hostels)
- Our antisocial behaviour pages have advice on what to do in an emergency involving abuse, drugs or violence
Rubbish and recycling
Our crews will continue to collect your recycling, rubbish and garden waste over Christmas, but the dates will change.
The Bank Holiday collections page has all the revised dates over Christmas and the New Year
Christmas tree recycling
If you subscribe to our GREENbin garden waste collection service, you will be able to recycle one real Christmas tree per household with the first collection in the New Year. Please remove all decorations and place it by the side of your GREENbin.
Alternatively, St Catherine’s Hospice has partnered with JustHelping to run a Christmas tree collection service in Crawley. Simply book a collection by Sunday 4 January and they will take it away for a suggested donation of £20 - or whatever you can afford.
The Recycling Centre at Metcalf Way will also accept real Christmas trees in with the garden waste section.
