Direct debit and standing order

Direct Debit gives you peace of mind. It's the easiest, most convenient way to pay and it's guaranteed. 

If you set up a Direct Debit it will save you the the time and trouble of writing out cheques and the cost of postage. It will also save you having to come to the Town Hall to pay. 

Payment dates for Direct Debit are either the 1st, 15th or 25th of the month (except for Business Rates and Leasehold).

You will always be in control and will know in advance how much will be debited from your account and when. 

Standing order

If you pay by standing order you need to arrange payments with your bank or building society. Ensure payments are credited on the dates due, quoting the following:
