Crawley Borough Council is holding two public consultation meetings to show the concept for up to 18 modular homes in the Ifield neighbourhood.

They would be a mixture of one and two-bedroom properties and would replace 52 garages at Deerswood Court. Fifty new parking spaces will also be included in the plans.

Ifield Community Centre will host the consultation sessions on:

  • Saturday 7 October, 10am-12 noon
  • Thursday 19 October, 7pm-8.30pm

Find out more about the proposition and fill in a survey about the plans on the Deerswood Court consultation page

The modules are factory-built to specification and then delivered for installation on a steel frame, reducing the time taken to complete construction, the impact of weather on the schedule and the level of local disruption.

Solar panels and air source heat pumps are fitted, and standardised construction means the homes are highly insulated and energy efficient, significantly reducing the amount tenants will spend on their energy bills.

The 52 garage tenants will be offered alternative garages or lock-ups if the housing is built.
