Crawley Borough Council’s successful Small Business Grant Scheme is set to continue with the help of continued funding from a county-wide pot.

The council has been awarded a further £71,000 from the county-wide Economic Recovery Fund to continue supporting micro, start-ups and small businesses in Crawley via this scheme, which has already financed over 50 small businesses in Crawley since it launched in November 2016.

The Small Business Grants Scheme is available for Crawley-based businesses needing start-up funds or established businesses looking to grow, improve and expand, or create new employment.

The grant scheme will be allocated to eligible businesses on a first come first served basis. Grants of up to £4,000 are available to businesses with less than 50 employees, based in Crawley. Businesses are required to match fund at least 50% of the total project cost with their own investment.

For more information about the scheme, including the eligibility criteria and how to apply, visit our business funding and grants page or email economic.development@crawley.gov.uk or call 01293 438519.

We are very pleased that Small Business Grant Scheme funding has been extended. We would strongly encourage local businesses to find out if they are eligible for help with a grant.

As an early beneficiary of the Small Business Grant Scheme, I can say it has made a huge difference to all of us at Cygnet Digital. At the time of application, we were looking to take on our first employee and needed funding to buy equipment and setup the administrative processes required to recruit staff.  We are now a few years in and have used this same foundation given to us by Crawley Borough Council to hire more talent from the local area. The process is simple, easy to understand and an extremely useful tool for businesses looking to grow.
