Trainee Planner - Register Your Interest!

  • Serious about a career in town planning?
  • Excited by the opportunity to qualify as a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute whilst gaining experience in the workplace?
  • Prepared to invest from 3 to 6 years in achieving this goal?
  • Available to commit from August 2020?

We’re thinking about creating an opportunity to become a qualified Chartered Town Planner within our Development Management team. This will be through the new Chartered Town Planner Degree Apprenticeship Route.

As this will be a new venture for us, we’re keen to find out how much interest there is in this. There are two types of trainee role we could offer:

Option A

This is for talented graduates with a minimum 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in Town Planning or related subject1. This will involve, over 3 years, working as a member of our Development Management team alongside:

  • University study to gain an MA Chartered Town Planner;
  • Keeping a reflective journal of professional practice; and
  • Completing an End-Point Assessment of Professional Competence over 3 years.

Option B

This is for high potential students with A Levels at grades BCC (or equivalent2) in subjects related to Town Planning3. This will involve up to 6 years of hands on work in our Development Management Team alongside:

  • University study to gain an RTPI accredited degree plus the MA Chartered Town Planner;
  • Keeping a reflective journal of professional practice; and
  • Completing an End-Point Assessment of Professional Competence.

By registering your interest with us, you will help shape which option we offer. In return, you’ll be amongst the first to know when we start accepting applications. Plus, if you’re successful in joining us, you’ll gain invaluable hands on experience, skills and knowledge working alongside our talented Development Management colleagues, a salary and fully funded studies up to qualified status.
