The new Mayor of Crawley is Councillor Jilly Hart. Councillor Hart was elected Mayor at the Annual Meeting of the Full Council meeting on Friday (27 May).
Councillor Hart represented Ifield ward between 2019 and 2021 and was again elected in Ifield ward in May 2022. She was born in Ealing, West London and moved to Ifield when she was 18 months old, later attending St Francis and St Wilfrid’s schools.
Councillor Hart, who is now retired, has three children and two grandchildren. Two of her children will be consorts for her Mayoral year.
The Mayor’s charity for 2022/23 is The Olive Tree Cancer Support Centre based at Crawley Hospital. The charity offers support for people receiving treatment for or recovering from cancer.
I’ve seen Crawley grow and evolve into the town it is today, a town of which I am very proud.
