On 21 September, Crawley welcomed a diverse group of investors and business leaders for the fifth Invest Crawley Investor Tour. This event offered a unique opportunity to explore the town's thriving business landscape and promising investment prospects.

The day began with an engaging breakfast and networking session at SHW’s offices with opening speeches delivered by Councillor Michael Jones, Leader of Crawley Borough Council, and Sanjay Arora, Chief Operating Officer at the Arora Group. Their insights into Crawley's growth potential and investment climate set an optimistic tone for the day.

We love doing business in Crawley, as it encourages investment. It also allows us a big presence in shaping the town centre. People see Crawley as somewhere they want to be in the future.

The attendees then boarded a double-decker Metrobus coach which took them on a guided tour of Crawley's key business and development sites. Expert guides Adam Godfrey, Senior Partner of SHW and Steve Sawyer, Executive Director at Manor Royal Business Improvement District (MRBID) led the way, providing valuable details into the town's history and economic evolution.

They then arrived at the Metrobus depot, where they had a discussion with Neil Miles, Head of Engineering at Metrobus, who shared the company's innovative approaches to public transportation, particularly their step towards sustainability with the introduction of their new hydrogen buses.

Following this, attendees proceeded on a walk around Crawley town centre, seeing the main landmarks of the town – both historical and key regeneration initiatives – led by Lynn Hainge, Economic Regeneration Manager at Crawley Borough Council.

The tour culminated at the new Create Building, a brand new, nine-storey, Grade A office headquarters in the centre of Crawley. Here, attendees had lunch and heard a closing address from the newly appointed Chief Executive of Crawley Borough Council, Ian Duke. He emphasised Crawley's commitment to fostering economic growth and supporting businesses of all sizes and types.

Crawley, strategically located near Gatwick Airport and well-connected to major transportation networks, has been steadily attracting investment and expanding its local economy. The town's vibrant business ecosystem, along with its commitment to sustainability and innovation, positions it as an attractive destination for investors across various sectors.
