The latest event in the POP-UP CULTURE Programme will see children’s artwork inspired by local flora and fauna displayed in the Memorial Gardens.

‘Nurturing nature’, which features artwork from students from Waterfield Primary School in Bewbush and Seymour Primary School in Broadfield, runs from 15 to 31 July.

Textile artist Sarah Pimenta and visual artist Rachel Cowell worked with students from the schools in May to develop artworks on the theme of ‘Nurturing Nature’.

The artworks were inspired from local flora and fauna, with the students creating amazing images which were then hand printed.

The final designs will be displayed on large panels in Memorial Gardens.

To learn more about the project or to have a go yourself the artists will be holding an art workshop in the Memorial Gardens on Saturday 15 July from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

The Memorial Gardens is the perfect backdrop for these beautiful pieces of art. This wonderful project has allowed children to connect with nature, develop their creativity, try a new skill and work with professional artists.
