Three local business in Crawley have been awarded funding from Crawley Borough Council’s Small Business Grant Scheme.
The funding comes from a county-wide pot and is entirely separate from funding sent out in response to the pandemic.
The successful small business grant scheme was created to help start-ups and existing small businesses with expansion costs; since launching in February 2016, the scheme has financially supported more than 89 micro and small businesses in Crawley.
In the latest round of grant funding, local video production service, The Filming Company received £4,000, enabling them to invest in improved filming equipment and hire another employee.
New start-up, the T-Shirt Factory, received £2,000 to invest in equipment and initial stock, and commission a new website.
Crawley-based commercial and domestic boiler replacement and repair service, Crawley Boilers received £4,000 to facilitate a new online and traditional marketing campaign – including an SEO programme, pay-per-click advertising and branding work.
I am delighted we have been able to award funding to these businesses. The town has been significantly affected by the pandemic but our local businesses have so much potential and this funding will go some way to helping them to get through, ready for the economic recovery

The council has recently received a further £71,455 top up grant from West Sussex County Council’s Business Rates Pool to continue the scheme for another year.
Small Business Grants are available to Crawley businesses with 50 employees or fewer and require a 50 per cent match fund from the business.
