Collection days and missed bins
Find out about your bin collections and reporting missed bins. You can also download your collection calendar below.
The quickest way to view your bin collection dates and download calendars is in myCrawley.
Collection frequency
For individual households, we collect food waste weekly, and general waste and recycling fortnightly on alternate weeks. For properties with communal waste collection facilities, we collect general waste weekly and recycling fortnightly. Weekly food waste collections will roll out to these properties in 2027. If you have a garden waste bin, it is collected fortnightly.
Collections are made from 6.30am onwards, so ensure that your bins are outside before this time.
Bank holiday collections
We collect waste on all bank holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. If your collection falls on one of these days, we'll collect it on an alternative date, which is published each year.
We also collect waste on substitute bank holidays. For example, if Christmas Day falls on a weekend and the following Monday is the substitute bank holiday, we will still collect your waste on Monday if that's your usual collection day.
Over Christmas, we will take one additional, average sized bag of general waste for every day your collection is delayed. For example, if your collection day is normally a Monday, and we collect your waste on Tuesday, you can put one additional bag out for collection.
If you forget to put your bin out on a bank holiday or substitute bank holiday, we can't return to collect it.
Missed bin collection
If any of your collection are missed, please check the following before reporting it to us:
- was your bin outside for collection by 6.30am?
- did you put your bin out on the right day? You can check your bin collection day in myCrawley
- was your bin put out at the edge of your property for collection?
- did your bin contain the right waste?
You can check the status of your collection on myCrawley. If there were any issues with your bin they will be explained there.
Missed collections must be reported within 72 hours of your scheduled collection day. Reports will not be accepted after this point.
