Local Plan Review summary
The Local Plan review took place between 2018 and 2024. It went through a number of formal, statutory stages as part of its preparation. This included five separate stages of public consultation, endorsement at Full Council three times and an independent examination carried out by Planning Inspectors.
The draft Submission Local Plan was approved at a Full Council meeting on 22 February 2023 to go out to publication (Regulation 19) consultation and subsequently for submission to the Secretary of State for its independent examination. This is in accordance with our approved Local Development Scheme (LDS). Visit our Local Development Scheme page to find out more.
The Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State for its independent examination on 31 July 2023.
