Local Land Charges and CON29 searches

We provide responses to CON29 and CON29O searches. CON29 information relates to the property or land and includes applications, notices and orders that are in the process of being made that potential home buyers would need to be aware of.

The CON29 answers questions from a range of council departments including:

• Highways

Our current turnaround time is three to five working days.

We no longer accept and process Local Land Charge (LLC1) searches following the migration of our register to HM Land Registry.  For LLC1 searches visit the Search for local land charges page on the GOV.UK website.

A Local Land Charge is a restriction, prohibition or financial charge attached to a piece of land or property.  The LLC1 search reveals entries including:

• listed buildings
• tree preservation orders
• conservation areas
• smoke control areas
• conditional planning permissions
• Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) charges
• Article 4 Directions
• legal agreements and financial charges
• enforcement notices
