Areas of Special Local Character

Crawley has a unique history. The area developed naturally up until the birth of the New Town, which was planned and constructed around the existing settlement and villages of Three Bridges, Worth and Ifield.

Since the completion of the New Town, based on the Minoprio Masterplan, the town has maintained the neighbourhood principle. As a result, there are some low density residential areas of special character. These areas are heritage assets and should be protected to prevent them being lost.
