About our service
Whether you're a homeowner planning an extension or a construction professional working on a large-scale development, our building control team is here to help ensure your project complies with the building regulations.
We provide:
- expert advice from the design stage through to completion
- plan checking and site inspections at key stages of construction
- a completion certification (subject to standards being met)
- certificates and regulatory documentation
- a reporting system and investigation service for dangerous structures
- permission to demolish a building
We work closely with all dutyholders, including domestic clients, principal designers, and principal contractors, to support a shared understanding of the building regulations and ensure compliance throughout every stage of your project.
We support you in a number of ways:
Plan assessment
For full plans applications, our expert team of registered building inspectors (RBIs) will carry out detailed checks to ensure your proposed work meets the building regulations and required standards for safety, energy efficiency, accessibility, and structural integrity.
Site inspections
Our registered building inspectors will visit your site and conduct inspections at key stages of construction. They will verify that all work done is progressing in-line with the approved plans and that it satisfy building regulatory requirements.
Completion certification
Once the final inspection is complete, all necessary documentation is received and all approvals have been granted, our team will issue a completion certificate which confirms that the building work complies with the building regulations. This document is essential to demonstrate regulatory compliance and will be needed for if you remortgage or sell your property in the future.
