Crawley Borough Council is updating its Town Centre Regeneration Programme – and wants your views.

The programme was originally produced in 2016 and has been updated to:

  • Reflect the progress made since then and to bring it into line with the council’s Economic Recovery Plan
  • Meet the current needs of the town centre, as well as priority areas for investment and regeneration
  • Set the future path to economic recovery from the pandemic

Since 2016, the council and its partners have been busy delivering an ambitious, exciting and successful programme to revive and regenerate the town centre – breathing new life into key locations in order to realise the area’s full potential as a fantastic place to visit, live, work and do business.

The programme was updated in 2018 and since then, despite the pandemic, further progress has been made to deliver a number of key projects and activities.

The actions in the programme are presented under seven key themes:

  1. Investing in revitalised public realm, highways and infrastructure
  2. Bringing forward key town centre opportunity sites
  3. Creating the conditions for new high grade business space
  4. Developing town centre neighbourhood amenities
  5. Governance, engagement and co-ordination
  6. Marketing, branding and inward investment
  7. Complement policy

There has been a huge amount of progress in the past six years, from major regeneration schemes in Queens Square and Queensway to small-scale events to attract more people into the town centre. This latest version of the Town Centre Regeneration Programme builds on these successes and presents an ambitious vision for the next few years. Please tell us what you think!
