No Smoking Day, the annual health awareness day which supports smokers who want to quit, takes place on Wednesday 10 March.
This year’s theme is ‘Quitting doesn’t have to be stressful’. To support this, Action for Smoking and Health (ASH) has put together its five top tips:

  • Trying is the most important step
  • Know that the symptoms of withdrawal are temporary
  • Combat cravings with the correct quit aid and support
  • Other lifestyle changes can help too
  • Don’t be hard on yourself if you have a blip

Crawley Borough Council’s Crawley Wellbeing team runs a free stop smoking service for Crawley residents. The team’s support includes up to six weekly one to one appointments with a trained wellbeing advisor, support in understanding your triggers and barriers to stopping, and access to the correct quit aid to help you with your stop smoking attempt.

For more information, email the Wellbeing team, or call 01293 585317.
