The Get Creative festival shines a light on all the great cultural activity that takes place across the UK on a regular basis and encourages people to try their hand at something new and creative in homes and outdoors (when government restrictions can be met).

As part of the festival, community groups and organisations in Crawley will be posting videos of their activities as well as hosting creative events and welcoming new people to join virtual activities from 8 to 16 May 2021. It is a great way for people to find out how to get creative on their doorstep and try something different with hundreds of hands-on events on offer.

To support these groups, we will be sharing an array of activities to partake in such as singing, dancing, crafts, cooking, storytelling and more:

Local artist Rachel Cowell aka Ginger Moo will be creating artwork on the High Street and in County Mall, drawing inspiration from the town centre as it emerges from lockdown

Crawley Film Initiative will be filming some of the artists and sharing their films with you.

MM Theatre School will be inviting you to indulge in a bit of musical theatre.

Crawley Library will be running an exciting and varied programme with storytelling, singing and book reviews

Sing and sign with Manor Green College on Monday 10 May at 4.15pm

Phoenix Choir are inviting you to join some of their rehearsals online on Thursday 13 May at 7.15pm

Tilgate Nature Centre will have some great Creative Creatures video for you

and much more!

The festival is supported by a range of major cultural organisations including Arts Council England and the BBC, but the programme of activities is mostly run by community groups and arts organisations of all shapes and sizes throughout the country.  These groups and organisations are invited to put on events that are participatory and creative, and either free or cost-recovery.
