Sheltered housing
Sheltered housing is all about independent living as you get older. Our sheltered housing scheme provides retirement homes that allow you to live independently but with the reassurance of knowing someone is there to help you.
Your own front door
Your home is self-contained. Your own front door leads to a lounge, bedroom(s), kitchen and bathroom. You can come and go as you please, live life at your own pace and have friends and family to visit whenever you want. Some schemes allow small pets, but large pets are not suitable for life on a scheme and you would usually be asked to find another home for them.
Someone to help if you need them
If you need help in an emergency, the red pull cords around your home and the scheme will alert our care centre who will make sure you get the right help as quickly as possible. They are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our sheltered housing team provide a practical management service for the schemes and advice to tenants. They don’t provide general help or care for you but they will point you in the direction of people who can.
New friends to make and things to do
There’s a real community spirit in sheltered housing. A community room at each scheme means residents can take part in a variety of activities. There’s something for everyone and you can choose to join in as much or as little as you want.
Apply for sheltered housing
To make an application for sheltered housing you will need to apply to join the Housing Register.
