New tenancies start on the day you view the property.
You will need to pay four weeks rent upfront on the day of your viewing/acceptance of the flat.
If you need to claim benefits to help pay your rent you will need to take action before the viewing.
If you are currently living in temporary accommodation and receive Universal Credit (UC) but get Housing Benefit to help with your rent then you will need to advise UC that you are moving and request an advance payment of housing costs for your rent.
If you are a new tenant you are almost certainly going to need to make claim for UC to help with your housing costs and you will need to request an advance payment of the housing costs.
If you receive UC but do not currently get any housing costs you will need to inform them of your move and request an advance payment to help pay the four weeks upfront.

If you have told us on your application that you have a car, the Garages team will send you a parking licence application form for you to complete and return.
If you haven’t received this application form by the time you get your viewing date, request it by emailing the Garages team.
With the completed application form you will need to provide proof of ownership and insurance of the vehicle registered to you at your current address, including registration plate, make, model and colour of the vehicle.
A permit will then be issued. Clearly display it in the front windscreen when parked in a specific bay.
If additional vehicles for other household members wish to use the same bay, proof of ownership/registration of all vehicles must be supplied. Currently there is no option for any flat to request two separate parking bays/licences.
A Direct Debit must be set up for monthly payment in advance as part of the application. The cost will be £5 per week

You will not be able to buy a resident permit for the surrounding streets, although you may be able to get a non-resident permit. New developments are excluded from resident permit schemes as the requirement for parking is considered through the planning process.
There are no spare spaces for visitors.
Your home has the latest fibre technology installed (Fibre to the premises) and not all providers offer packages for it. See the latest list from Openreach for current providers.
You will need to sign an energy supply agreement for your heating and hot water. This will be part of your tenancy papers. You will then need to set up an account with Sycous who manage the metering and billing for us.
There is limited outside space on the ground floor and on the roof terrace on the sixth floor. The roof terrace will be available to residents who apply and pay for a licence. Memorial Gardens and children’s playground are a short walk away. Railey Road allotments are also within walking distance.
Our experience has shown that pets can unwittingly create problems, so we have put in place a no pets policy for all flats where doors open into communal areas, except for two flats on the ground floor that have their own external front door.
Some of the apartments in Bridgefield House are available to buy through shared ownership.
