Tenant and resident engagement

To deliver an excellent service it is essential that you, our tenants and residents, are involved in helping us to make decisions about the way we manage your homes. We find that the greatest experts on our service are those who live and experience them. You know what works and what doesn’t and are uniquely placed to identify what your communities need.

Working together

We would like to give you the opportunity to work with us, to share your thoughts, to find out what we do, and help us to improve. As well as looking at how we do things, and giving us your comments, you can help to keep an eye on how well we are doing by scrutinising the service.

There are many ways to get involved and below are just a few of them.

Keep in touch

Keep in touch with the latest news from Crawley Homes, including opportunities to get involved, by registering for email updates from us. You can change your subscription preferences at any time.

Get involved

There are lots of ways you can get involved both from your home and in-person.

Send us your thoughts

If you have a comment or suggestion about the service you receive from Crawley Homes, email us at tenantparticipation@crawley.gov.uk.

Answer a survey or consultation

Paper, online and telephone surveys are all ways we ask for feedback. For example, we use surveys to find out how satisfied you were with parts of our service, such as dealing with repairs and anti-social behaviour.

Every year we invite tenants to take part in Tenant Satisfaction Measures surveys which provides information to the Regulator of Social Housing. Find out more on our Tenant Satisfaction Measures webpage.

Consultations are another way to get resident perspectives on a range of issues and policies. These can be completed online or in person. Visit the consultations page on our website to see the latest consultations. If you would prefer to share your thoughts in person, we hold meetings to enable this.

Most of these take a few minutes but all help to give us your views.

Neighbourhood events

We get out and about with engagement events - drop-in and have a chat when we are in your neighbourhood.

We promote these events in our newsletter (sign up above). We also send out letters and flyers to each neighbourhood as well as informing residents via email if we hold one.

Meetings

Workshops, discussions and consultation all help us to find out your thoughts and action your comments.

However, not everyone wants to or has the time to come to a meeting, so we’re now holding more of our meetings online or as hybrid meetings, with people in the room and online for the same meeting.

Tenant and Leaseholder Action Panel (TLAP)

The Tenant and Leaseholder Action Panel is our tenants’ scrutiny group.

They scrutinise Crawley Homes’ policy and performance, make recommendations and hold us to account to make sure our services are of the highest standard and residents are at the heart of our work.

TLAP subgroups focus their scrutiny on one aspect of our services, for example complaints.

Residents wanted

If you want to know more about getting involved or are interested in joining TLAP, email tenantparticipation@crawley.gov.uk or call Terry Hardie on telephone 01293 438434.

Resident engagement strategy

More about how we engage and consult our residents can be found in our resident engagement strategy. This will be available shortly.
