Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRS)
The HWRS at Metcalf Way reopens on Monday 11 May for essential use only.
Only garden waste and general household waste will be accepted. Garden waste means green waste such as grass cuttings and hedge trimmings.
General household waste (or “black bag” waste) is the types of items that are collected in your kerbside collection such as food or non-recyclable packaging, and does not include electrical items, textiles, bulky items, furniture or general recycling. General household waste items brought to the sites at this time will be sent to landfill.
West Sussex County Council are responsible for the site - visit the Recycle for West Sussex website for full details.
Schools and colleges
Following the announcement that schools and colleges are to close from 20 March, guidance has been issue by the government for parents and carers who have been identified as key workers.
Following the latest government advice, all West Sussex Libraries and the Record Office will be closed until further notice.
