Before you apply for an allotment plot in Crawley, visit the other pages in the allotments section to familiarise yourself with the locations of our allotments and the different plot sizes available as well as the costs associated with having an allotments and what our expectations are of our plot holders.

To be eligible to apply for an allotment plot: 

• you must be a Crawley resident and be paying your Council Tax to the borough
• you must be aged 18 or over (discounts are available for anyone aged 60 plus)
• your household cannot already have a Crawley allotment plot (only one is available per household)

Please note that while Pease Pottage has a Crawley postal address, their services are provided by Mid Sussex District Council so they do not qualify.

You can apply online for the allotment site of your choice. You can choose up to three locations in your application. Visit the Our allotments webpage for information on plot locations, sizes and maps. 

You will be added to the waiting list for your chosen sites until a plot becomes available at one of them. Please note that waiting times vary by site.

This one-off charge covers the processing and management of your allotment application and covers up to three site choices. This payment is not a contribution toward your allotment rent. Rental charges will be issued separately once your application has been approved and a plot has been allocated. 

Please note that the £22 fee is non-refundable, even if you later choose to withdraw your application, and does not guarantee you a plot.

When you have reached the top of the waiting list for one of your chosen sites, we will contact you and give details of the plot or plots available and arrange a viewing at the site with our Allotment Officer.

Once a tenancy agreement is completed you can start cultivation and we will send you an invoice for payment.
