myBenefits portal

In November 2025 we launched an online portal for benefit claimants.

The portal allows you to start a new claim for Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction, and to access information about your claim, including documents.

In the myBenefits portal you can:

  • make a claim for Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support
  • tell us about a change in your circumstances
  • view your claim and letters
  • upload supporting evidence

How to access the myBenefits portal

You can use your myCrawley account to access myBenefits, so you don't need to remember any new passwords.  Just log in to myCrawley and follow the myBenefits link in the menu.

Sign in to myCrawley to access myBenefits

New claims

From the myBenefits home page, select Make a new claim. You can choose from four options:

  • Check your eligibility for benefits
  • Start a new claim
  • Go back to a claim you started earlier (maximum 14 days)
  • Apply for additional benefits

Always check your eligibility before starting a claim.

Mixed age couples

In order to claim pensioner benefits both members of the couple have to be above pension age. Those couples where one is above pension age and the other is below will remain on working age benefits until both of them reach pension age.

Existing claims

If you already have a Benefit claim, you can register in the portal to get access to it. You will need your claim reference for this. Go to the Existing claims page, choose the action you want, then follow the instructions to register. You will only need to do this once.

Where is my claim reference?

If you have an active benefit claim, your reference will on a notification letter from us, or on an email we sent you. If you can't find it, call us on 01293 438000.

If you need help

If you need help with using this portal or have a question about your claim that is not answered there, please email us at benefits@crawley.gov.uk, stating your name, address, Benefits reference (if you have one) and the reason for your contact.
