Banding

The amount you pay depends on which property band your home falls into. The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) values domestic properties for council tax. This valuation is used to set your council tax band. You might need to contact the VOA if you think your council tax band is wrong.

If you make an appeal to the VOA about your council tax band, be aware that you will need to continue making council tax payments based on your current banding.

Visit the government website to find out how you can challenge your band.

If the VOA amend the banding, we will adjust your account and send a revised notice to you showing your amended liability.
