Following a request for clarification for residents about the current position, Crawley Borough Council can confirm that it has stopped all plans to develop a site in Lansbury Road, Broadfield. Consultation on the brownfield site took place in January 2024 and clear feedback from residents was that it was not in the right place.
Following this feedback, the council has identified other housing schemes which will help meet its ambition to deliver over 500 council houses in the forthcoming years.
We listened to the residents of Lansbury Road and understood their concerns. I can therefore confirm that we have ended any plans to develop this site.
Councillor Ian Irvine
Cabinet member for Housing
I would like to thank everyone for taking part in the consultation, your feedback meant that we went out and identified other sites that met our requirements.
Councillor Michael Jones
Leader of Crawley Borough Council
