Hundreds of residents and visitors came together over the weekend to celebrate the successful return of Crawley Fusion Mela, enjoying two days of vibrant cultural performances, live music, dance, art and family-friendly activities across the town.

The free festival, which returned for the first time in a number of years, showcased the rich diversity of Crawley and brought communities together through a packed programme of entertainment and creative experiences.

The celebrations began on Saturday at Unit 79/80 in County Mall, where visitors enjoyed a day of world-class dance performances, art, live music and drop-in creative activities presented by Creative Crawley. Highlights included performances from Seeta Patel Dance and Ertza Dance, a henna-inspired exhibition by Crawley artist Sarah Maple, live music from African Night Fever, and screenings of the new short film Crawley: Against All Odds, created with local learning-disabled adults from Dimensions Outreach 3 Way and filmmaker Amara Bjorkhaug.

The festival continued on Sunday in Memorial Gardens with an exciting programme of live music, traditional and fusion dance, workshops, street circus entertainment and community stalls. The event featured a headline performance from internationally renowned Bhangra artist Jassi Sidhu, alongside Four By Four Kings of Bhangra, Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band, Niruththiyalayam School of Dance, Rhythmix Dance Squad and the family-friendly Circus Raj.

Crawley Fusion Mela was supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and delivered by Crawley Borough Council, in partnership with Cohesion Plus and Creative Crawley. The event celebrated cultures from around the world while providing a platform for local performers, artists and community groups.
