Fynlo AI, a micro-enterprise based at the Crawley Innovation Centre in Manor Royal, has received a £45,093 Greentech Business Growth Fund grant by Crawley Borough Council to accelerate the development of its AI-powered carbon emissions intelligence platform for freight, logistics and aviation businesses.
The company is tackling one of the biggest challenges facing supply chain businesses: accurately measuring carbon emissions. While many organisations currently rely on industry averages and estimates, Fynlo AI uses real operational data to provide more precise, transparent and auditable carbon reporting.
The platform is designed to help businesses better understand and manage their Scope 3 emissions, which are indirect emissions generated throughout supply chains, including the transportation and shipment of goods. By bringing emissions data from multiple carriers into a single platform, Fynlo AI aims to give organisations a clearer picture of their environmental impact and support more informed decision-making.
The grant funding, which has been awarded through Crawley Borough Council's Local Regeneration Fund (formerly the Towns Fund programme), will support further product development and commercial growth, helping the company build on significant progress already achieved. Fynlo AI has advanced Smart Freight Centre certification aligned to the globally recognised GLEC Framework and ISO 14083 standards and has filed a patent for its innovative shipment-level carbon calculation methodology.
Councillor Michael Jones, Leader of Crawley Borough Council, and Councillor Atif Nawaz, Cabinet member for Planning and Economic Development, visited Fynlo AI following award of the grant to speak to the business and welcome them to the Crawley Innovation Centre.

Fynlo AI is currently on an exciting journey of growth and raising awareness that companies now have access to tools such as ours to gain access to more accurate carbon emissions from their shipping and activities.
Without this grant we would not have been able to finalise our Smart Freight Centre certification for our methodology and continue the development of the platform.
