Crawley Borough Council is pleased to announce that Councillor Marion Ayling has been elected as the Mayor for Crawley for the Civic Year 2026/2027. The election was held at the council’s Annual General Meeting (22 May). Councillor Imran Ashraf has been elected as Deputy Mayor of Crawley.
In addition, there is one change to the Cabinet. Councillor Julian Charatan has become the Cabinet member for Public Protection.
The full list of Cabinet members are:
- Community Engagement and Culture - Councillor Sue Mullins
- Environment, Sustainability and Climate Change - Councillor Nick Hilton
- Housing - Councillor Ian Irvine
- Leisure and Wellbeing - Councillor Chris Mullins
- Planning and Economic Development - Councillor Atif Nawaz
- Public Protection - Councillor Julian Charatan
- Resources - Councillor Bob Noyce
Councillor Atif Nawaz will continue to serve as the Deputy Leader of the Council.
I am delighted to welcome Councillor Marion Ayling as Mayor of Crawley. Having previously served as Deputy Mayor, she brings valuable experience to the role and I am confident she will represent the borough with great dedication and pride over the coming year. I would also like to welcome Councillor Imran Ashraf on becoming Deputy Mayor.
I am pleased to welcome Councillor Julian Charatan to the Cabinet as our new Cabinet member for Public Protection. Our Cabinet continues to bring together a strong and experienced team, committed to delivering for Crawley’s residents and supporting our communities.
