Leader of Crawley Borough Council, Councillor Michael Jones, and Cabinet member for Community Engagement and Culture, Councillor Sue Mullins, visited The Easter Team charity hub this week, highlighting the vital role the organisation plays in supporting local people in crisis.

The Easter Team is a community-driven charity funded by generous donations of food and money from local churches, schools, supermarkets, businesses, and individuals. Its mission is to help those in need feel accepted, cared for, and valued by providing essential food supplies and assistance with utility top-ups.

During the visit, Councillors Jones and Councillor Mullins met with staff and volunteers to learn more about the charity’s work and its impact on the Crawley community. They also paid tribute to Su Parrish, Operations Manager and Safeguarding Lead, who has been with The Easter Team since 2009 and will soon be leaving the organisation. Su has managed teams in the charity sector for over 20 years, bringing experience, compassion, and leadership to the role.

The Easter Team is a shining example of what can be achieved when a community comes together. The support offered here makes a real difference to people’s lives, and we are proud to celebrate the work of Su and the entire team. Su’s dedication and commitment have been extraordinary. For over a decade, she has helped countless families through difficult times including the COVID-19 pandemic and the current cost of living crisis. On behalf of the community, I want to thank Su for her incredible service and wish her every success in the future.
