About the role

Got a talent for spotting how new technology and digital tools can help people to work in better ways? Get a buzz from encouraging people to adopt new digital ways of working, supporting them to develop their skills so they’re able and motivated to use them well? Excited by the opportunity to influence what and how people learn, unleashing your creative streak in designing and delivering a wide range of learning resources and opportunities?

Here at Crawley, we’re busy transforming how we deliver our services and ways of working. As technology plays an essential part, we’re seeking a talented and experienced digital skills advocate and trainer to lead on the design and delivery of our programme of learning in this area.

Our current plan is to start with the roll out of SharePoint to 500+ colleagues, most with no or little knowledge of it. We’ll then move on to upskilling users on the Microsoft 365 apps and other digital tools and technologies that come our way. 

You’ll be passionate about taking a user-centred approach to designing and delivering learning content. This means starting with user needs and wants, spending your days helping colleagues to work smarter, stay connected with each other, deliver ever better services and work well with information, with the help of technology, rather than evangelising about the long list of functionalities provided by workplace apps, leaving it to users to work out how they might be of help to them. 

You will also have: 

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and products (especially SharePoint), Windows 10, hardware and peripherals 
  • Experience of creating and delivering innovative and flexible learning for people of all abilities, using a variety of approaches (including formal classroom workshops, drop-in sessions, one-to-one at desk training, instructional videos, cheat sheets, guides, e-learning and email support) 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way 
  • A flair for organising, able to work on your own initiative and meet tight timescales 
  • Oodles of curiosity, able to self-learn and run with new tech, apps and digital tools 
  • Ideally, available to join us in January

Additional information

Fixed term contract for 12 months.
