About the role

In November 2019 Crawley was identified as one of 101 towns eligible to bid for up to £25m from the Towns Fund. The objective of the Fund is to drive the economic regeneration of towns to deliver long term economic and productivity growth through urban regeneration, planning and land use, skills and enterprise infrastructure and improving connectivity through developing local transport schemes that complement regional and national networks, as well as supporting the delivery of improved digital connectivity.

This role is fixed term for 18 months and presents an exciting opportunity to deliver a range of transformative projects in Crawley in accordance with the guidance and eligibility criteria provided by MHCLG.

The Towns Fund Programme Manager will be responsible for co-ordinating all tasks related to the Town Deal Board and Crawley Town Investment Plan in order to secure funding to deliver significant sustainable regeneration and transformation for the town. Working with the Crawley Town Deal Board, the successful applicant will need to work closely with partners from the private, public and voluntary sector and work with residents to establish an exciting and deliverable vision for change.

You will:

  • Have excellent project management and communication skills with the ability to deliver outcomes to tight deadlines
     
  • Have previous experience of developing and implementing major economic development strategies, producing business cases and overseeing physical regeneration and development schemes
     
  • Use your experience of working in partnership, building effective relationships at all levels with stakeholders from across the local business, employee and resident communities
     
  • Have excellent understanding of economic development matters, nationally, regionally and locally including economic development and planning policies, business support initiatives, inward investment activities and regeneration programmes
