About the role

Here at Crawley we’re focused on bringing finance out of the shadows of the back office. Gone are the days of spending all our time on data manipulation, reconciliations and reports. We’re also working on building collaborative relationships with our non-finance colleagues, helping to ensure that finance acts as a valued partner at the heart of decision making across the organisation.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to use your influence, challenge and negotiation skills, build and maintain effective relationships with others, think strategically and apply your commercial acumen, this new role could be for you.

With direct line management responsibility for three finance colleagues, this role provides a great opportunity to drive the success of our new way of working.

The ability to build and maintain credible relationships up to senior management level, a keen desire to both understand and play a part in delivering service priorities, combined with the skills to quickly access accurate and relevant information to support others in addressing issues and opportunities are critical to this role.

You will also be CCAB qualified, or part-qualified and actively studying, with experience of providing financial advice and support to senior management within a large and complex organisation. You will have demonstrable experience of budgetary control, financial management and financial planning.   Knowledge and understanding of local government finance is essential.

We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, as we may close this advert before the stated closing date if enough applications are received.
