About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Crawley Borough Council to join our Tenancy Services team as a part time Financial Inclusion Officer on a job-share basis

Operationally, you will manage your own casework providing practical advice and support to tenants on a range of financial issues from rent payments, welfare benefits, personal budgeting to accessing employment opportunities. Strategically, you will play a critical role in embedding good practice throughout the department, and lead on our Financial Inclusion Strategy. 

Ideally you will have: 

  • In-depth knowledge of welfare benefits and welfare reforms 
  • Experience of working with vulnerable members of the public experiencing financial difficulties 
  • Excellent communication and customer services skills 
  • An ability to deliver comprehensive income maximisation services 

A full and current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes will be required. 

Satisfactory completion of an Enhanced DBS check will be a condition of employment.
