As the Licensing Authority, we are required to publish a statement every three years, of the principles we propose to apply when exercising our functions under the Licensing Act 2005. Our current gambling licensing policy ends on 31 January 2023.

These aim to:

  • Prevent gambling being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder, or being used to support crime
  • Ensure that gambling is carried out in a fair and open way
  • Protect children and other vulnerable people from being harmed or exploited by gambling

The consultation is open to businesses who carry out activities regulated under the Gambling Act, residents, trade groups and other Responsible Authorities.

To enable a comprehensive review of this policy, please send us your comments by 12 noon on Monday 17 October 2022.
