We are proposing changes to some heritage protections in Crawley and want to hear your views.

The changes will affect how we consider development proposals to some areas and buildings.

The proposals relate to two types of heritage asset: Conservation areas and locally listed buildings.

Conservation areas

We are proposing:

  • Two new conservation areas which are good examples of New Town Heritage at: Queens Square and The Broadway; and Gossops Green Neighbourhood Centre
  • Changes to the boundaries of the Brighton Road, High Street, and St Peter’s conservation areas

Locally listed buildings

We are proposing the following changes as part of an updated Local Heritage List:

  • Inclusion of around 60 additional buildings
  • Removal of 2 buildings currently on the list

For more information about the proposals read the Heritage Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
