Before the council becomes formally involved, we always consider whether residents have been able to speak to their neighbour in the first instance, as people are not always aware of the impact their behaviour is having. Many neighbour issues can often be resolved through early communication. A polite and informal approach to make your neighbour aware of the problem can sometimes be effective.
If you do not feel comfortable approaching your neighbour directly, you may wish to use a Dear neighbour card. This provides a way to communicate the issue anonymously. If you would prefer not to deliver the card by hand, it can also be posted. You may find it helpful to include how the behaviour is affecting you, as this can assist your neighbour in understanding the impact.
Report antisocial behaviour at or near your home
If the Dear neighbour card approach is not successful, please use the form below to report it to us.
Examples of what you can report include:
- neighbour noise
- animal issues and smells
- ball games within a residential area
- drug use and dealing if reports are regarding a council property
For further information about what is and is not considered anti-social behaviour, please visit our What is antisocial behaviour? webpage.
If you are having difficulty completing the online reporting form, or if you have a general enquiry regarding neighbour nuisance or noise that is having a direct and persistent impact on you within your home, please contact the ASB Team on telephone 01293 438438. Our core working hours are Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4pm.
