Abuse, violence or drugs

Threats of abuse or violence are criminal offences and should be reported to the Police immediately. You must also let them know if you have concerns about your safety or the safety of others.

Some neighbour disputes may involve verbal abuse, intimidation or harassment, which can be very distressing for the victim. Report these types of behaviour to us if the person causing the issue lives in a council property. If the Police are already involved, we will work with them to agree the next steps to address the behaviour and provide you with the right support.

If you live in a council property and are a victim of domestic abuse, you can contact your housing officer for advice.

If you think your neighbour is suffering domestic abuse and have immediate concern for their safety, you should contact the police. If you are impacted by noise that you hear from a neighbour’s property relating to domestic abuse then report this to us.

Drug use and dealing

Drug dealing is a criminal offence and should be reported to the Police immediately. You may also let them know if you have concerns about yours or other people's safety.

Contact us if you suspect drug use or drug dealing is taking place in a council property and you or a member of your household have been affected. We will work with the Police to agree the next steps to address the behaviour.
