GREENbin Service

The GREENbin service is an optional, chargeable wheeled bin service where your garden waste is collected from your household. Collections are every two weeks throughout the year, apart from a two week break over the Christmas and New Year period.

How much does it cost?

The current charge for a GREENbin is £57.50 per year, which covers the cost of running the service. If you choose to pay by Direct Debit, you will receive a reduction of £2.50 per bin. We recommend payment by direct debit. Paying this way is easy and keeps running costs of the service down. If you join part way through the GREENbin season you will still be charged £57.50, but you will not be asked to pay again for a year.

Payment in full or a Direct Debit application must be received before we deliver a GREENbin to you.

How does it work?

We will deliver a large green wheeled bin with a volume of 240 litres. Collections are made fortnightly from your property throughout the year apart from a two week break over the Christmas and New Year period.

How do I apply?

You can apply online at any time. Once you have submitted the form and either paid your invoice or completed a direct debit request, we will deliver a bin and information pack including a collection calendar to you.

What can I put in a GREENbin?

In the GREENbin you can put loose grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, leaves, twigs and small branches, plant prunings and weeds, but not fruit or vegetables. For a full list, please download a What Can I Put in My GREENbin? leaflet here.

Can I share a GREENbin with a neighbour?

Yes you can. Sharing a bin is a good idea if you don’t produce much garden waste. The bin must be registered with only one resident for payment purposes, and will be emptied from their address.

When do I receive the GREENbin?

We aim to deliver your bin(s) within two weeks of receiving your Direct Debit form or other method of payment. However, please note that due to demand during peak times delivery times may exceed this. The renewal date when your next invoice is sent out will be set on the day your bin is delivered to take into account any delay.
