Arts and leisure consultation

Arts and leisure consultation Arts/Theatre County Mall Adult Free 18/02/2019 Have your say on arts and culture

Crawley Borough Council is undertaking a public consultation to seek views on the current arts and culture offer for the town. The consultation, running until the end of July, will focus on identifying gaps and gathering information on how it can be improved.

The results will be used to develop an arts and culture strategy for Crawley by creating key priorities for the council, stakeholders and partners to focus on that will encourage the creative industries, cultural events and activities and participation.

With funding from Arts Council England, the council has employed independent producers Naomi Alexander and Louise Blackwell to develop the project. They've commissioned local artist, Joe McAlister, who's developed a fun and interactive way of delivering the consultation based on a vintage fortune teller booth.

'Mystic Joe' cleverly incorporates art and technology, recording responses to the consultation via a touch-screen. It will be visiting local venues and businesses around the town over the forthcoming months. Crawley Borough Council Liz Hart 01293 438156 11.30am-2pm
