Crawley Disability forum

The Crawley Disability forum is made up of organisations, clubs and individuals who have a shared interest in providing and developing sports and leisure provisions for disability users/groups.

The aim of the Forum is to provide networking and consultation opportunities for partnership working, addressing accessibility issues raised by disabled users and stakeholders, developing new service provisions and sourcing potential funding opportunities.

  • Act as a voice for disability sport and physical activity within Crawley
  • To raise awareness around sporting access for disabled people and disability training and encourage best practice
  • Working with partners and local sport providers to promote disability sports and leisure provisions
  • Establish an effective two way communication process between organisations facilitating and delivering sport and physical activity opportunities for disability users and, or groups in Crawley.
  • Striving to ensure that disability sport and activities are delivered to high standards and with professionalism.
  • Increase local capacity for the development of inclusive play, sport and leisure opportunities through the development of new projects, initiatives and facilities that focused on people with varying disabilities
  • Identify, secure and monitor funding to strengthen the infrastructure of disability sport within Crawley

The EFDS is the national body responsible for developing sport for all disabled people in England. They work closely with the following National Disability Sports Organisations recognised by Sport England.

West Sussex Parents Forum exists to improve the quality of and access to information and services by giving a voice to, and representing, parents of children and young people in West Sussex who have learning difficulties and disabilities.

It is their aim to ensure that parents and carers are empowered and involved in making decisions about services that effect children and young people aged 0-25 in West Sussex.
