Picture yourself, feet up, warming your hands around a steaming cup of tea, resting after a physically demanding day, damp and muddy uniform drying ready for tomorrow. Sounds like the perfect end to the perfect day at work? Read on …
This unique apprenticeship based at Worth Park could be for you if you’re seeking to combine your passion for sustainable horticulture, carrying out a wide range of hands-on, outdoor tasks that respect rather than harm the environment and a real thirst for learning new things.
This opportunity will stretch and challenge you so you will enjoy regularly pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. You’ll be a member of the team focused on making Crawley a clean, safe and well maintained town. Ideally, you’ll be able to tell us about how you have achieved a goal through hard work and effort whilst making a difference to the area or other people where you live.
People skills are important too. Whether spending time with park users, volunteers, contractors or work colleagues, you will feel confident about working well with others on a daily basis. You’ll also be ready to take responsibility for yourself and your learning, use your initiative to make decisions as well as plan and organise what you do so that it is always done to a high standard. A strong work ethic, common sense and the ability to work with technology will also help you stand out.
In return, we’ll provide you with the opportunity to grow and develop yourself. You’ll start your career in horticulture through combing what you learn at college with the practical skills and know-how you’ll pick up in the workplace.
This opportunity is open to anyone who has the right to live and work in England, is not currently enrolled on another apprenticeship or further / higher education programme and does not already hold a qualification at level 2 or above in Horticulture or a closely related subject.
In return, we offer a generous employee benefits package, with a range of discounts, benefits and wellbeing incentives to suit everyone.
