The Borough Council’s Major Emergency Plan is designed to handle any major emergency within Crawley Borough Council’s boundaries irrespective of how, where, or when it happens. To be able to do this it is based on a framework which can be flexibly adapted to respond to differing circumstances.
The Emergency Planning Section’s role is to act as the focal point for contact between the Emergency Services and the Borough Council. It provides local authority and other resources to support the Police, Fire Service, Ambulance and Health Services.

Having carried out risk assessments within the borough, some incidents are foreseeable. In these cases, efforts are made to mitigate the effects of incidents, and the following specific plans have been developed for specific threats, or as common response activities which recur within many incidents.
