We have been made aware that some Crawley residents have received phone calls or emails advising of problems with their Council Tax banding. They have been asked for bank details in order to pay charges or apply for a refund.
We will never ask for bank details by email or phone in relation to Council Tax banding. We will always write to you. If you have any concerns please call us on 01293 438616.
Scammers are contacting residents in the Crawley area by telephone, pretending to be Police Officers to trick people into giving them money. They may say they are conducting an investigation and need to confirm your bank details. If you receive such a call hang up and call the police. Never give your bank details or bank card to anyone - the police will never ask for them.
