Crawley Borough Council

The council is responsible for collecting Council Tax on behalf of West Sussex County Council, Sussex Police and CBC.

We keep 12% to spend on Borough Council services. Sussex Police spend 10% and West Sussex County Council takes 78%.

Your Council Tax is a separate charge to your management fee, which HML Andertons (as the managing agent, appointed by Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon) collect and use for a variety of maintenance tasks. For a full list, see below.

HML Andertons

As the managing agent for Forge Wood, HML Andertons is responsible for:

  • Road maintenance
  • Grass cutting
  • Dog and Litter bins
  • Street lighting
  • Fly tipping removal
  • Graffiti removal
  • Pathways
  • Maintenance of play areas when these have been completed and handed over from the developers

The roads have not been adopted by West Sussex County Council, however once the development is complete, the main road will become the responsibility of WSCC. All side and access roads and parking forecourts/drives will remain the responsibility of the management company.

Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon

As Forge Wood developers, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmons are responsible for:

  • Development of the housing in Forge Wood
  • Development of play areas
  • Development of local amenities such as shops, community halls and health provision

All queries relating to the responsibilities of the developers should be directed to the Forge Wood Community Forum who will liaise with the developers and provide updates.
