Crawley has launched a Buy Local campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of buying locally.
Buy Local is about creating a stronger, more vibrant town. Independent shops and businesses are at the heart of our community, and their success benefits all of us.
The launch was kicked off back in December 2015 in anticipation of Small Business Saturday, a nationwide event and not-for-profit organisation, which aims to connect small businesses and enhance their marketing abilities.
Cabinet member for Planning and Economic Development, Councillor Peter Smith said: “A successful town is a more vibrant and fun place to live and work and in the long run that has knock-on effects on other facilities and services too. If we all work together I think we can make a real difference.”
There are so many reasons to Buy Local: doing so creates jobs in the area, keeps money circulating in the local economy, makes our town sustainable for the future, and is better for the environment.
In today’s technology-driven society, local independent businesses provide the personable, face-to-face service that’s unavailable online.
