Businesses need to be able develop and have access to a talented labour pool. Local people need to be able to gain the skills they need to take advantage of local employment opportunities.

Improving Opportunities for Local People

An ambitious plan to help Crawley people access better quality job opportunities within the town has been launched.

The plan aims to address skills gaps in the local workforce through four main projects; a Town Centre Skills Academy, Gatwick Skills Laboratory, Crawley Young Workers Scheme and Employ Crawley.

Employ Crawley

The first project from the Employment and Skills Plan has been launched; Employ Crawley is now open to the public. Based within Crawley and Broadifeld Libraries, residents are able to access a range of support to help them get to their next career step, no matter what their situation. Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are a great way to receive training and qualifications whilst earning a salary. Anyone can become an apprentice regardless of age and experience.

Get in Go Far is a newly launched programme which provides all the information that anyone would need when considering an apprenticeship, even including specific information for employers, teachers and parents. The National Apprenticeship Service and National Careers Service also provide further information on vacancies, support and advice.

Locally, Crawley College is one of the largest apprenticeship training providers in Sussex, but you can also go to Rewards Training for vacancies, support and advice.
