The Licensing Committee have restricted the number of Hackney Carriage vehicle licences that are issued. This decision will be reviewed every three years to determine the demand for additional taxis in Crawley.

Crawley Borough Council as Licensing Authority sets the maximum metered fare in respect of hackney carriage vehicles.  

Passengers should not be charged more than the price displayed on the meter for the journey and any waiting time. For journeys that end outside the district, taxi drivers may use the meter or agree a fare with the passenger before the journey starts.
